Chess Piece Logo

A logo I done for a up and coming clothing designer.

The Evolution of the Annotto Design

The Annotto Studio Design was a tough one. The design time spanned from February into August. This Blog will show you the time line and my thought process when designing logos.
So, the client wanted a design that was natural, non-corporate and a funky feel. So the first step is me playing around with some sketches and she chose sketch 3.
With sketch chosen, I do a more detail re-sketch as u can see above. Now its time to color and render it. So keeping with the funky feel I come up with this.

Upon seeing this, client loves it but wants to lose the leaf colors and keep it a outline. So this is created,
After that we realized that too much color is expensive, she asks to keep it limited to 2 colors, and I come up with a couple of samples
So after that, the client wanted a cleaner look and different colors. So I redrew everything in Illustrator and made it a vector, these are the samples
But the client didn't like the feel and asked for more samples using Blue and red, also to make "Studio" less prominent. So....
From here, she decided that she wanted that pressure ink line and to stay with the red and black setup, and this is what I came up with,
Feeling that we're on the right track, she picks one and asked for the Studio to be little smaller. And the Annotto Studio design is created,
As long and difficult as this logo was, I took it as a challenge and as a test to prove myself as a designer. What do you think? Did i nail it?
